A healthy sexual relationship is different for every couple because each person has specific sexual needs. Sexual activities in each relationship can be very different. For the most part, a “healthy” sexual relationship may involve:
- Both partners feeling equally comfortable with what is occurring.
- No one should feel forced into doing anything that they don’t want to.
- Each person has the right to say “no” to sex during any time.
- There must be mutual respect between both partners, before and after sex.
- A sense of trust must be present as well as complete honesty about sexual history and current activities.
