A healthy sexual relationship is different for every couple because each person has specific sexual needs. Sexual activities in each relationship can be very different. For the most part, a “healthy” sexual relationship may involve:

  • Both partners feeling equally comfortable with what is occurring.
  • No one should feel forced into doing anything that they don’t want to.
  • Each person has the right to say “no” to sex during any time.
  • There must be mutual respect between both partners, before and after sex.
  • A sense of trust must be present as well as complete honesty about sexual history and current activities.
